Solid-State High Power Radio Frequency Directed Energy Systems in Support of USMC Force Protection Operations

Gives commanders a middle option between waving a suspect vehicle through and shooting at it — relevant as directed-energy moves from the lab into base defense and counter-drone roles.

Solid-state high-power radio frequency (HPRF) directed-energy systems emit enough power to disrupt vehicle electronic systems without costly collateral damage to people or property — a viable non-lethal addition to entry control point operations for force protection.

Why it matters

Gives commanders a middle option between waving a suspect vehicle through and shooting at it — relevant as directed-energy moves from the lab into base defense and counter-drone roles.

Use when: The non-lethal middle matters — when the only tools are lethal force or a warning, the hardest tactical decisions have no good answer.
