'The spirit of defeating a man is the same for ten million men.' Musashi's scaling claim: 'one man can beat ten, so a thousand men can beat ten thousand' — and the way to reach ten thousand is to 'become a master of strategy by training alone with a sword.' The individual's craft is the seed of the army's victory.

[Use when]

Use when you think you need scale (team, capital, army) before you can win — Musashi says master the single unit and the scale follows; Sun Tzu says organize the scale. The two together are the full answer.

[Why it matters]

Sun Tzu states the same isomorphism — 'the control of a large force is the same principle as the control of a few men: it is merely a question of dividing up their numbers.' But Sun Tzu scales by ORGANIZATION (dividing numbers, combined energy); Musashi scales by CRAFT (train alone until you understand ten thousand). Same map, opposite root.
