The puruṣamedha litany dedicates each human type to a cosmic principle: a brahmana to brahman, a kshatriya to kshatra, a vaishya to the Maruts, a shudra to tapas, a thief to darkness, a murderer to hell, a eunuch to sin, a harlot to desire, a Magadha bard to excessive lamentation. Read as ritual logic it's a completeness engine: the sacrifice must contain every social and moral category — including the outcast and the criminal — or the cosmos it models is incomplete. Nobody is outside the system; even darkness gets its offering. (TB 3.4.1)

[Use when]

Use when mapping any human system — check whether your categories have room for the inconvenient people.

[Why it matters]

A model of the world that has no slot for its thieves and outcasts is a broken model. Completeness means accounting for the parts you'd rather not see.
